The majority of products typically take from 2 – 6 weeks to be manufactured by our Suppliers, shipped vis couriors and be received by our Installer from the day you place your order with HD Decorating. Once our Installer receives the product, you will receive a call to book your installation date and time. As all of our window treatments are custom made to your windows specifications, we rely on our manufactures to ensure that production times are met, however if a delay occurs (usually due to back ordered material), we will immediately notify you of the delay as well as continue to monitor the progression of your order. Products that may typically take longer to manufacture include; specialty shapes (such as arches, angled or sloped blinds).

Each order placed with Home Depot Decorating is custom made to fit your exact window specifications, measurements and style. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
• Any change must be requested prior to your check measure being completed, as production of your custom made order will commence the next day.
• Any changes or cancellation will not be accepted once manufacturing of your custom made product has commenced.
• As we only partner with large, reputable manufacturers, 99% of our orders are filled by our manufacturers within the timelines we state on our customer contract. However on rare occasions a delay may occur due to an out-of-stock or back ordered materials or components, as well as statutory holidays or other factors beyond our control. If a delay does occur you will be notified immediately with an update for your order.

Removal of existing window coverings including hardware should be completed prior to the installer arriving, unless otherwise agreed upon at point of sale. Your time is valuable! Our certified installers are trained to provide you with professional installation of your custom window treatments. Installation times can vary due to the scope of your project and can take as little as 30 minutes to several hours. To assist us and protect your home please ensure that all items within the installation proximity are safely moved and stored. Disposal of packaging or existing window coverings can be included at a surcharge, as HD Decorating strives to adhere to all municipal recycling and waste regulations. Please reference page 2 of your contract. 

All of our products come with a warranty and care document that is specific to each unique blind. This document will accompany your new window treatments and will be left with you upon the completion of your installation.  You can also click here for more information on Special Care Instructions.

Our manufactures offer unique warranty descriptions based on each product. Most manufacturers provide a “limited life time warranty” on material and workmanship. Components and mechanisms including operating cords and tilt wands are typically warrantied for up to 5 years. To submit a warranty claim please visit www.hddecorating.com/warranty. In order to process a warranty claim a copy of your purchase agreement as well a picture of the issue must accompnay your claim. Customers can reference each manufacturers warranty policies by simply clicking on the WARRANTY tab and then clicking “vendor warranty policy”. Please note, manufacturer product warranties refer to the product only, therefore any labour required to remove or reinstall the product is not included and a service call fee will apply should you need assistance.

Payment Method FAQ’s

This is a standard process / practice in order to validate a credit card. The $1 amount will be refunded back to your card once the actual contract amount is billed.

After placing an order, your credit card or Visa Debit card’s issuing
financial institution will place an authorization hold on your account for the
entire amount of the purchase. This ensures the card is valid and has
sufficient funds to complete the transaction. This is only an authorization and not a
charge. At this point, the amount is held and deducted from your credit limit
(or account balance for Visa Debit), but is not yet transferred to The Home
Depot. The order amount will only be processed once the order has been
installed.

If your order has not been installed within 5 days, you may see the order amount reauthorized on your credit card by your financial institution. The previous authorization will be reversed by your financial institution on your credit card or Visa Debit card, but may take several days due to processing times at your financial institution. The reauthorization / reversal process will continue until your order is installed and billed. These re-authorizations are not charges. You are only charged once for the order amount, once your order is installed. 

Reversals may take several days as they are subject to processing times at your financial institution. Please note that “authorization fund holds” last for varying periods, depending on the issuing card company’s policy. We do not have the capability nor are we obligated to release the financial institution’s temporary hold on authorized funds.
